Neighbor

When I was a little girl, all my birthday party guests usually included all of my friends from the NEIGHBORhood. Fun times!!!

Very cute and well drawn, Katrice! I like the composition. The neighbor walking down the lane from her house and the #1 Dad apron are wonderful! I gotta get me one of those aprons. :)

You should try watercolor. Here's a great site to get you started:

What fun! I think you've captured the party atmosphere very well, and I can smell those burgers cooking!
Thanks so much for dropping by, and your kind comments.

You must have had the greatest birthday party in the block! This illustration is heartwarmingly sweet. I love how your dad is looking at the crowd with a pleased smile while flipping the burger. That kind of detail is delightful.

Love your use of colors on this and how it tells a story without even needing a caption. And the expressions on their faces is great!

I like everything about this. It's warm, it's fun, and it brings back some memories. I really like all the detail you've put into this piece, from the crayon tablecloth to the B-girl hat, and your dad looks like he's having as much fun as the kids. The texture has the look of crayon, so much fun. Beautiful work!

Great illustration Kstyles. Has a really friendly, family feel to it.

Your style would definitely appeal to children, so good luck with the book.
