My oldest daughter started the recorded this year...it is funny how they start of sounding so horrible and the next thing you know out pops songs that actually sound like songs...which is much farther than I could ever get...I even let her teach me the first one she learned...
like your illustration, is maybe a kind of draw for children. my firts idea about scale was the musical scale too, you can see some sketches on my blog :)
Remember back in the band days when we had to practice those scales? Practice! Practice! Practice!
