IF: PLAIN "JANE"

Here is my entry for this weeks topic "Plain". I did this a long time ago but I think it strangely fits into this weeks theme.

I really like the color in contrast to the b/w. Interesting perspective - very nice illustration Katrice!
You asked me about gouache before and I never got a chance to answer (sorry!) It can be used like watercolor, or you can use it like I do and layer it - I like to be able to cover my mistakes - hahaha! I like it better than acrylic (what I used to use all the time) because you can do really thin washes with gouache. Absolutely try new things and post them when you do!

I agree great composition. Makes a "plain" illo, all the more interesting.

I agree, she does have some intrigue to her! The 2 tone colors in the hair really look nice, I like that.

Your enthusiasm shows in your art! I'm sure your students are lucky to have that available to them, too. Thanks for looking at my pencil plains!

"Plain" Jane? No, I don't think so. But it still a good piece of art.

The way her hair covers part of her profile and her sideway glance make her look enigmatic. This "plain" Jane is definitely unforgettable.

NIce work. It takes confidence to execute a dramatic image crop like that.
